To carry out protection and safety functions, range markers are necessary. Range markers can be added by clicking Show markers in the ribbon or right-click on the timeline and select Show markers from the context menu. By default, 1/3 of the timeline range will be marked.

The marked range can be changed in two ways:

  1. Move the begin or end marker while keeping the left mouse button pressed

  2. Move the total range while keeping the left mouse button pressed on the move icon in the top left corner of the marked range.

You can also select a range manually. Proceed as follows:

  1. Hold down <Ctrl>-key

  2. Hold down left mouse key on the camera timeline

  3. Select the range by moving the cursor

  4. Release the left mouse key

  5. Release the <Ctrl>-key

Hovering the mouse over the icon in the top right corner of the marked range opens a context menu providing commands for export, protection and safety functions. See chapters Protect or lock videos and Export videos for more information.

The same commands appear in the menu Time Markers, which is visible when time markers were added.
