Over RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol), it is possible to receive video streams from cameras or other video sources that are not explicitly supported by ibaCapture.

The prerequisite is that these sources support RTSP and provide an MPEG-4, H.264 or H.265 video stream.

For configuration purposes, the full URL of the video source needs to be entered. Video parameters such as resolution, stream coding, frame rate etc. need to be configured in the camera and will be detected by ibaCapture.

RTSP source URL

Please refer to the camera manual to find out which URL you have to enter here. This information differs depending on the manufacturer or the model.

The entry generally starts with the IP address or host name of the camera or source and further path information. Currently the default RTSP path for AXIS cameras can be selected from the “Apply RTSP URL” list.
