After a restart or during configuration, click the <Discover network> button to search screen cameras in the network. Depending on the network topology, not all instances of ibaCapture-ScreenCam may be found. Detected ScreenCam instances can be selected by double-clicking on the entry.

The connection table contains the following information:

  • "Camera name” is the camera name configured in the ibaCapture-ScreenCam program

  • "Computer name” is the name of the computer the screen camera (ibaCapture-ScreenCam) is running on

  • "IP Address” is the IP address of the computer

  • "Source Port” is the TCP/IP port number that is used by ibaCapture-ScreenCam to communicate with with ibaCapture Server

Video settings

You can set the frame rate (in frames per second) and the GOP size.

The video quality can be adjusted with the slider. Please note that the higher the quality, the larger the file size of the video files and the higher the required computing capacity.

Capture settings

It is possible to capture all monitors connected to a computer, one whole monitor or a rectangular region of the monitor.

These three options are available in the drop-down list.

  • All monitors (connected to the computer)

  • Monitor (whole screen): specify the monitor ID assigned in Windows to the monitor. The monitor ID can be found in the "Display" dialog in the Windows control panel.

  • Region: a click on the icon opens a preview of the selected monitor. . Here, you can draw a rectangle with the mouse while holding the left mouse button down over the region to be captured.

The region is given in pixels (X, Y) => w x h

(X, Y) = Offset of the top left corner of the region rectangle from the top left edge of the monitor.

w x h = width x height

In the next step, port numbers can be assigned for video streams, see chapter Streaming ports.
