PING is a system command with which you can check if a certain communication partner can be reached in an IP network.

1. Open a Windows command prompt.

   
   
   
   
   

2. Enter the command "ping" followed by the IP address of the communication partner and press <ENTER>.

With an existing connection you receive several replies.

With no existing connection you receive error messages.
