The following new functions and improvements are available in ibaManagementStudio from version 2.2.

News on supported software products

Product page with diagnostic information for ibaCMC server

A new product page in the web client shows the status and license information for ibaCMC (from version 3.5.0). In addition, ibaManagementStudio now supports the download of support files as well as the administration and updating of ibaCMC installers via the repository.

Display of the stop prevention for ibaPDA

In the General tab of the ibaPDA server product page, a new field has been added that displays the ibaPDA stop prevention. Possible values are: Unknown, Configured – Active, Configured – Inactive, Disabled. This function will be available from ibaPDA v8.12.0.

Storage of login information for remote systems

As of this version, you can store login information for all connected systems in the web client, which you can use to perform remote updates on the respective systems. This is particularly useful for the new software update option if you want to update software on multiple systems.

All users of the web client can store individual access data for systems, provided they have authorizations for these systems. This access data is only saved for the logged-in ibaManagementStudio user and has no effect on the settings of other users.

For more information, see Storing remote system credentials.

New software update options

This software version provides you with 3 software update options to distribute software updates more efficiently. The following applies to all software updates:

  • You need the ibaManagementStudio+ license.

  • Remote actions must be activated for the system on which you want to perform updates.

  • You must enter login information for the systems. As of this version, you can also store this information in ibaManagementStudio.

  • As of this version, ibaManagementStudio checks the EUP date of the software updates before each installation. If the currently licensed EUP date does not cover the new software version, the installation will not be started.

  • During the installation, the affected services of the iba software products are stopped on the respective system.

  • Canceling an installation can lead to the system being in an undefined state.

  • You can track the status of the updates at any time in the Tasks tab.

You have the following software update options

Updating iba software products individually

You can update iba software products individually as usual. What is new is that you can close the software update window without interrupting the installation process. You can track the status of the update in the Tasks tab.

For more information, see Updating iba software products individually.

Updating multiple iba software products on one system

If you select a system in the main menu item Systems, you can update several iba software products on the selected system in the iba SW product information tab. You can specify the software products, the version and the order of installation. All available versions from the repository are displayed if they are higher than the currently installed software version.

The installations are carried out one after the other.

For more information, see Updating multiple iba software products.

Updating an iba software product on several systems

If you select a folder under Systems in the main menu, you can update a software product on all systems in this folder in the iba SW product information tab. You can specify the systems, the software product and the version. You can only install versions that are available in the repository and are higher than the currently installed version.

The installations are executed in parallel.

For more information, see Updating iba software products on multiple systems.

New Tasks tab

With this software version, you can perform various tasks simultaneously and view their status in the Tasks tab. The tasks include installation of software updates, MARX updates, compilation of files and file downloads. You can also perform various actions, such as canceling tasks, downloading collected information or removing completed tasks.

This tab shows all relevant tasks for the selected system at system level and all tasks for the systems in a folder at folder level.

For more information, see Currently running tasks.

New in the Status application

Information about the connected server at ibaManagementStudio Agent Status

ibaManagementStudio Agent Status now shows the IP address and the port of the last connected ibaManagementStudio Server. If the connection is active, the time since the connection was established is displayed; otherwise, the time of the last connection is displayed.

Language selection in the Status application

You can change the language in the General tab for both ibaManagementStudio Server Status and Agent Status. The system language is used by default, whereby English is used if the system language is not supported.

If you change the language via the drop-down list without restarting the service, only the interface texts of the Status application are changed, but no message texts. If you restart the service, the message texts are also adjusted.

For more information, see ibaManagementStudio Status.

Download license information for offline systems

The export of all license information for the systems to a folder now also contains the latest available license information for offline systems, if this data is available. In the CSV file, data from offline systems and therefore possibly outdated license information is marked with an asterisk (*) at the end of the system name.
