The individual iba systems can be connected and communicate with the server as agents. The server initiates the connection to the agent (formerly known as LAN connection).

Prerequisite: The server and agents are located in the same network.

Setting up a server-initiated connection

  1. Set the server-initiated communication mode for ibaManagementStudio Agent. You can do this in 2 places.

    • You can select the Server-initiated communication mode when installing the ibaManagementStudio Agent application, see Installing agents.

    • Optionally, you can later change the communication mode to Server-initiated in ibaManagementStudio Agent Status under Settings, see Server-initiated communication settings.

  2. Enter the connection data in each case.

    Optionally, you can also assign a password, which is at least 8 characters long.

  3. In the web client under Settings – System Configuration, add the agents for Server-initiated connections, see Adding a system.
