ibaM-EIP-S-1G is a device for acquiring the cyclical data exchange between EtherNet/IP originator and target. The device can be integrated into an existing EtherNet/IP network with one or more EtherNet/IP originator.

The device works as sniffer, i.e. it listens to the cyclic data exchange of the IO data (implicit messaging) between EtherNet/IP originator (controller) and target (IO device).

Inline mode

The installation location within the EtherNet/IP network is relevant. The network interfaces must be connected in a daisy-chain configuration. Only data that is being transmitted at this position in the network can be acquired.

Inline mode is not enabled

The EtherNet/IP originator (controller), targets (IO devices), and ibaM-EIP-S-1G are connected via a switch. ibaM-EIP-S-1G must be connected to the switch's mirror port.

ibaM-EIP-S-1G supports connections to two ports on different subnets in this configuration and can monitor traffic from both networks.
