The ibaM-EIP-S-1G module has 4 registers. The General and EtherNet/IP tabs are always visible. The Analog and the Digital tab contain dynamic online views of the analog and digital signals acquired by the device. This is why these two tabs are only visible after modules of EtherNet/IP Sniffer type have been added and the configuration has been transferred to the device.

Basic

Module Type (information only)

Indicates the type of the current module.

Locked

You can lock a module to avoid unintentional or unauthorized changing of the module settings.

Enabled

Enable the module to record signals.

Name

You can enter a name for the module here.

Comment

You can enter a comment or description of the module here. This will be displayed as a tooltip in the signal tree.

Timebase

All signals of the module are sampled on this timebase.

Use module name as prefix

This option puts the module name in front of the signal names.

EtherNet/IP

INLINE mode

Enable INLINE mode for both interfaces (true) if the device is connected in a daisy-chain configuration to the EtherNet/IP network.

Physical speed Link 0/1

You can set the network speed for communication on links 0 and 1 separately. The available options are:

  • 10 Mbit/s

  • 100 Mbit/s

  • 1 Gbit/s

  • Autodetect

Depending on the physical speed, additional settings may be required.

  • Settings for 10 Mbit/s and 100 Mbit/s:

Duplex Link 0/1

Select Full duplex or Half duplex.

Force settings Link 0/1

Enable autonegotiation or select Force speed and duplex for devices that do not support autonegotiation.

Autonegotiation is a method in which two Ethernet devices automatically negotiate the highest possible transmission speed and the optimal duplex mode.

  • Settings for 1 Gbit/s

Operation mode Link 0/1

Set Link 0 or Link 1 to Master. Only one link can be set to Master . For the other link, select Slave or Automatic.

Autonegotiation is a prerequisite for 1 Gbit/s connections. During this process, the clock source for the connection is also negotiated. Consequently, one endpoint must be configured as the master and the other as the slave.

Filter IP addresses

If you select True , the device will only process EtherNet/IP streams from devices with an IP address within the filter range. This should be used in networks with more than 1024 EtherNet/IP streams. You still need to enter the first and last IP addresses for the filter range. Up to 255 streams are supported.

Allow unaccessible streams

If you select True, acquisition can be started even if streams are not accessible.
