CIP Motion is an extension of CIP designed specifically for highly dynamic drive and motion control.

When CIP Motion is selected as the profile, an additional Data Block column appears in the Analog tab. Depending on the data block, different information is transmitted:

• Cyclic Actual: transmits the actual values from the IO device to the controller

• Cyclic Read/Write: bidirectional data block for cyclic setpoints and attributes (Write: setpoints from the controller to the I/O device; Read: response from the I/O device to the controller)

• Event: transmits event-based information, such as alarms, status changes, and limit violations

• Service: transmits asynchronous service information, such as configuration, diagnostic queries, etc.
