Follow these steps to start the wizard:

  1. Select the CMU (ibaCMU-S) you want to migrate in the plant tree of ibaCMC.

  2. Open the configuration page.

  3. Change the hardware type to ibaDAQ.

Subsequently, the migration wizard opens.

Before performing the migration, the wizard checks some prerequisites.

If one of the required prerequisites is not fulfilled, the wizard shows an error message in the first step.

General notes on migration
  • Basically, a migration to a CMU type ibaDAQ is possible for CMU types ibaCMU-S, Haicmon-CMU and ibaPaduS-IT16. The following explanations focus on type ibaCMU-S.

  • The migration to ibaDAQ should be performed in place on the CMU element (ibaCMU-S), i. e. no new CMU device will be created.

  • A completed migration cannot be reversed.

Wizard features

The migration wizard executes the following tasks:

  • Update the internal buffer index of the input channels so that DAT files created by ibaCMU-S can still be opened after the migration.

  • Transform DAT file cleanup to snapshot-specific cleanup. The settings for DAT file cleanup are applied to all snapshots.

  • Transfer the BP filter settings of the sensors to the new structure.

  • Set configuration flag to pending

  • Set up MQTT topics for connection with ibaPDA

  • Change hardware type to ibaDAQ

  • Write log entry when migration is completed

The current configuration of snapshots, TCP telegrams and module configuration will be preserved.

Limits of ibaDAQ compared to ibaCMU-S
  • ibaDAQ has only two digital inputs instead of eight on ibaCMU-S.

  • ibaDAQ cannot stream raw data directly to an ibaPDA system over fiber optic cable.

  • ibaDAQ does not support directly ibaNet750 modules, which were configured by ibaCMC. However, connecting these modules is still possible via ibaPDA.

Prerequisites for a migration from ibaCMU-S to ibaDAQ
  • Only the first two digital inputs are configured on ibaCMU-S and used in ibaCMC.

  • No virtual channels are configured.

  • No fiber optic raw data stream to another ibaPDA system is configured.

  • ibaNet750 is not configured and no sensor is connected via an ibaNet750 module.

Recommended workflow for migration
  1. Start the migration process and check for compatibility issues.

  2. If compatibility issues occur, fix them first in the ibaCMC configuration before continuing the migration.

  3. Replace the ibaCMU-S device by an ibaDAQ device, commission the ibaDAQ device and connect it to the network in order to establish a connection with ibaCMC.

  4. Launch the migration wizard and proceed with the migration by clicking “Start CMU Migration” in the final step of the wizard. If the migration is successful, you should see the message “Migration successful.” Then click <Confirm> to complete the migration.

  5. Now, connect the ibaDAQ device to ibaCMC.

  6. After the connection to ibaCMC has been established, load the ibaCMC configuration onto the ibaDAQ device.

  7. Finally, check if everything works (TCP telegrams, signal quality etc.) and check if data is imported in ibaCMC.

In chapter Notes on preparation for migration you’ll find tips and guidelines in case that the prerequisites for migration are not fulfilled.
