On the computer side, the ibaFOB-io-D, ibaFOB-2io-D, or ibaFOB-4i‑D modules are used with the ibaFOB-4o-D add-on module.

Parallel to this, discrete signals can be coupled via other fiber optic connections, e.g. using ibaPADU or ibaNet750-BM. The option of coupling in signals from other systems using system connections and bus monitors is also available.

The ibaFOB-io-ExpressCard or a ibaFOB-io-USB adapter are used to couple notebooks.
