In the workspace, you can place objects and variables that you want to use in the report. You can also edit or delete existing objects.

The shape and size of the workspace are determined by the defined layout parameters. The workspace always consists of a single page. If you want to use multiple pages in the report, you must define them using different layers, see Ribbon menu in the Report Designer.

Note that new objects are automatically assigned to the topmost visible layer.

You can select from various view tabs.

Layout

This view displays the object frames. The object contents are displayed as variable or field name.

Layout Preview

This view displays the objects in the so-called "What you see is what you get" format (WYSIWYG), i.e., exactly as the object will appear in the report output. The objects are highlighted in their respective layer colors. This view is recommended for creating reports.

Preview

This view is similar to the Layout Preview, except that the layer colors are not displayed.
