The phasor module calculates phase, RMS, effective frequency and ROCOF (Rate Of Change Of Frequency) of an input signal. The input signal can be a current or voltage measurement.
The input signal is checked against an ideal, internally generated reference signal of a given nominal frequency, e. g. 50 Hz.
The results give information about a phase shift and/or a deviating amplitude of the input signal and about the amount of the deviations.
Suitable applications of the module can be found in the field of electrical engineering and power grids. For example, you can monitor and compare the phase and amplitude of voltages and currents from different converters supplying the same grid (e. g. railway electrification).
The amount of deviation from the recommended value may be used as a basis for trigger conditions. The drifting of signals can be detected too.
